Not to tempt fate, but nothing bad has happened to me yet. I had an unbelievably relaxing vacation where nothing happened, and today I came back to work. And I haven't killed my coworkers yet!

RUBBERbANDzOO REPORT: My little plastic animal, who lost her miso cup at Princeton, had to be cut off my sweater this morning. She had happily existed tied to the zipper of my grandpa sweater (you know, the tan one) since reunions, even taking a trip in the washing machine. Alas, she knew she'd be really bored at my office today, so she opted to spend the day on the coffee table instead.

I really, really wish I was with her.

Cat, your comment on Harry Potter reminds me of Dave H's memorial service last year. Apparently, he taught himself Spanish by reading Harry Potter, and was pretty proud of the fact.

You know, that's not a bad idea for me....

So, I'm trying to convince Halle to join in on the fun. Halle - if you're out there, sign up! We need you!

I just got a special 15% off coupon for Barnes and Noble (membership has its privileges, after all). Perhaps I'll use it to purchase the Rule of Four.

Masha! this looks great! you have to tell me how to get rid of the annoying links to the individual entries. I still have that on my page.
Also, I finished the Rule of Four yesterday. It's not really like the da vinci code. I'd say a bit more umberto eco. It's really not bad. Some of the writing is good--but self-consciously good. However, it has a fairly consistent tone for having two authors. A lot of books do a lot worse in that dept even with just one author.
