I leave for foreign ports unknown tomorrow night. Why the heck are you still in Balto?

heard hey ya and pour some sugar on me on the radio in the car.

the best smell in the world: freshly cut grass just after it starts to rain.

amy, are you in Rome?

Cathy, did you freeze to death in a freak windsurfing accident?

Where ARE you guys today?? I am so bored. please entertain me.

Ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew EW!

Jesus, Jess, I wasn't that bad!

You got to exercise your trigger finger. boot and rally, baby. boot and rally.

Okay, so the dinner last night was kind of a shakedown, but for other people. We're supposed to tell classmates to "Give $10!" Our participation rate really, really sucks, apparently.

So, give $10!

In othe news, I need to practice for reunions, because I was HURTING after all the rounds of drinks last night.

amy, you have to delete the spaces under your post so your name is right beneath what you write. I get very confused when you are hanging out in mid air like in the post below.

Shout-out by TVGuide! Shout-out by TVGuide!

JUST THE TICKET: Wanna attend the May 9 finale of Survivor: All-Stars at New York's Madison Square Garden? Well, StubHub.com is auctioning off tickets to the big event, with proceeds benefiting the Museum of Television and Radio.

After reading gawker today, I finally understand exactly what kinja is. So this is what megnut has been working on for the past year. I wonder if they ever found their kinja administrator? they were advertising that position for-evah.

shakedown. shakedown. fight the power! it's princeton, they have enough damn money. their endowment is larger than many countries who have 1. larger populations and 2. larger problems than squirrel infestation and questionable architectural choices.

It is a little sad how proud I am of this.

In other news, I'm going to an Annual Giving dinner tomorrow night that seems to be thrown by our class. I thought it was a mixer, not a 20-person dinner. I'm very, very afraid it might actually be a shakedown.

SUCCESS! We have ads for t-shirts and crochet patterns! Take that, not-so-subliminal-anymore contextual advertising!

In a special Saturday edition, I present to you: The Human Doily

Friday, April 16, 2004

Comment on Jessi's blog: ads for pictures of dead people? EWWW!

Yeah, I second a complete ignorance as to what Modest Mouse Green is. Though I have this bizarre idea that it's a little muted. Have no idea why.

Has baseball season meant an increase in traffic at Stubhub, I wonder?

despite all your industrious doiliness, we are getting ads for silly cartoons. what's the deal?

and yes, cat. halle liked the idea. she said, 'oh, how hipster.' which is the point. we've been debating color schemes. I told her I can't handle green and orange, but maybe I will bend on that one. she thinks the shirts should be modest mouse green. you guys?

UPDATE: halle claims she said, "oh, how indie." in addition, she would like it pointed out that she may not be a big fan of the word 'hipster.'

Cat, I think we're forgetting Search Engine 101: Doily, doily, doily.

Tuesday, April 13, 2004

Because I am an industrious "administrator," and also because I want to see a doily ad tomorrow, I have gone and edited all the posts to reflect the correct spelling of "doily." Google appears to have plenty of people paying to advertise on that term, so - show me DOILY!

Ah, sweet latte, sweet latte. I'm no longer manic.

I am dreaming of Starbucks, but am tethered to my phone. Starbucks, starbucks, starbucks, you would be so lovely on a rainy day.....

Oh yes. hal and amy, cat came up with a GREAT idea for a reunions t shirt. I'm keeping it on the DL, though, so we'll have to talk about it on the telly.

Halle has demanded that the doily make a trip to atlanta. so I'm off to georgia on saturday. doily duty calls again!

I'm returning to nyc tonight, my dearest masha, with the doily and everything!

whatever. dude. my other blog is getting ads for breast pumps and diaper bags. it gives me the willies.

Can you balance the budget?

Why on earth is Doily getting ads for graco strollers???

We've become so meta, we're getting ads for Jesse. That cracks me up. Doily is a decent ad to strive for, though. I'd click on that.

I'm mad at the human doily, though, because she won't be home to watch Gilmore Girls with me. Doily, come home! We miss you! No more stupid delays in Baltimore! I have a digital camera - I could post those pictures if you came home!

so. as my reading public knows, or should, I love doilies. It has been my dream for some time to open up my arts collective and then to have friday afternoon teas there on a regular basis. All of this has been contrived around my desire to use doilies in an appropriate setting.
Since the collective is on the backburner until I get some venture capital funding, I have found a way to indulge in my doily habit in the meantime. Introducing: the life sized doily. (pause) If I had a digital camera, I would now post a photo of my present self wearing this garment. Instead, you will just have to ask cathy about its appearance because she was the first witness of the wearing of the doily. She, in fact, christened said garment.

Dude. I got forty five out of forty eight on that state thing you posted aims. and I STILL failed. what's up with that?

I wonder why we're getting ads about babysitting now?

Friday, April 09, 2004

Guess where I am? At home, posting from my new wireless network! Woot woot!

Thursday, April 08, 2004

I'm not sure if this qualifies as fun or interesting, but it's how my coworkers and I spent our downtime yesterday. Unsurprisingly, I failed the first time. But not quite as badly as the rest of the group! One coworker only knew the east coast, Texas, and Florida, which is...disappointing.

She lives! Now, if we could just find Jessi.....

Monday, April 05, 2004

Jessi commentary - that woman with the theoretical wedding and baby registries is really funny. At least, I hope she knows that she's funny....

Cat, sorry about the cube shrinkage. Was it run through the hot cycle by mistake?

Saturday, April 03, 2004

Off to Princeton! I'll say hi to Old Nassau for you!

Friday, April 02, 2004

Amy, What was the Nat doing in Nyc? doesn't she live somewhere in the middle of the country?

Girls, I need some suggestions about what to put on the reunions t shirt this year. I say we go with the idea from several years ago. The "Mis" shirts. I think Pinks Mizunderstood has faded enough from memory that we won't look like we are associated with that (ahem) piece of art.

I want to be Miss Aligned. You know, b/c of my issues with symmetry.

Other suggestions include:

Miss Trust
Miss Deeds
Miss Fire
Miss Conduct
Miss Doubt
Miss T. Opportunity
A Miss

Thoughts?

Jessi report: I was at the 2nd avenue station because I was out to dinner at 6th Street and 1st Avenue, and I was coming from work.

Babysitter's Club - that was really funny. I hadn't thought about them in years. The amount of time I spent reading those books instead of actual babysitting is truly staggering.
